Alice Springs Water Advisory Committee

There has been a public call for expressions of interest for a Chair and committee members for the Alice Springs Water Advisory Committee (ASWAC).

The purpose of the ASWAC is to advise the Controller of Water Resources on the effectiveness of the Alice Springs Water Allocation Plan in maximising economic and social benefits of water use, within ecological constraints and other matters within the Alice Springs Water Control District.

Members of the ASWAC will be appointed by the Northern Territory Government. Members will be suitably qualified and experienced in the management of water resources or be in a position to represent key stakeholder interests. Members shall have a range of skills, experience and interests. The Committee is asked to advise the Controller of Water Resources (or delegate) on matters that are referred by the Controller, within the Alice Springs Water Control District.

Expressions of interest closed 28 March 2016 and the new committee is currently being established.
