Northern Territory Offsets Principles

The Northern Territory’s Offsets Principles are to be used to guide offsets designs and decision making about all types of offsets that may be used in the Territory. This includes both biodiversity and greenhouse gas emissions offsets, and potentially other types of offsets as the evidence base and assessment tools become more sophisticated.

The target-based offsets model that is being applied in the Territory will provide further guidance for offsets designs, and facilitate improved environmental outcomes at landscape or regional scales.
